Departure Street

I lost track of counting my mistakes tonight

My mind is somewhere way up with the satellites

In-between oblivious and self aware

We’re somewhere in the middle but we just don’t care

Said don’t think about tomorrow that’s so long from now

It’ll all work itself out in the end somehow

But I look like a mess, now I’m falling apart

And they’re dancing to the beat of my broken heart

Lost track of the hearts she took

Mine sank to the floor, and the room it shook

No amount of alcohol could break my descent, my violet fall

Not ideal, but we will survive, we will survive

I got sad and I drank too much now I’m half alive

We were exhausted, oh yeah we were beat

When we arrived at departure street

Although we just got here, we both know

There’s only one place that this can go

Home again, I’ll count to ten

Every good story’s gotta come to an end

Hold up

Chin up boy, you better watch her leave

She left the ground on departure street

Home is where I’m going, I won’t soon forget

Everything Is broken, I still pay the rent

The door is off the hinges, and the roof caved in

The kitchen sink is flooding babe but I can swim

If the walls begin to crumble, the foundation’s strong

I’ll leave it how she left it, said she won’t be long

Arrival street is just beneath where we last danced

I’ll be waiting in December, i’ve no other plans

Lost track of the hearts she stole

Mine broke down the door

Made a god shaped hole

No amount of alcohol could break my descent my violent fall

Not ideal, but we will survive, we will survive

The ghosts lurking to the left of me say I’m half alive

We were exhausted, oh yeah we were beat

When we arrived at departure street

Although we just got here, we both know

There’s only one place that this can go

Home again, I’ll count to ten

Every good story’s gotta come to an end

Hold up

Chin up boy, you better watch her leave

She left the ground on departure street

Home, I’m going home

Home, I’m going home

I’m going home
